Building Resilience to Vicarious Trauma Webinar (Wales Only)

The session aims to help participants understand the impact that supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma can have on their own wellbeing, whilst exploring practical strategies to build resilience and maintain emotional health.

The session aims to increase participants' understanding of stress, trauma and vicarious trauma, and to develop skills to support their own wellbeing.

Session Aims:

• Have an increased understanding of stress, trauma and their impact on the brain.

• Gain an overview of trauma responses and how these may present in children, young people and those supporting them.

• Develop an understanding of vicarious trauma and recognise its signs and effects.

• Explore practical strategies to protect yourself from the impact of vicarious trauma.

• Learn a range of coping skills and grounding techniques to support emotional wellbeing and resilience.

• Increase awareness of available sources of support and understand when and how to access them.
