The Fostering Network is delighted that Hollywood superstar Michael Sheen has sprinkled some celebrity stardust on this year’s Foster Care FortnightTM (1-14 June).

This Foster Care Fortnight, as we celebrate the role the arts play in the lives of fostered children and young people, The Fostering Network's Ambassador and celebrated children's author Jacqueline Wilson is calling on everyone to consider their connection to fostering and whether you could be one of the more than 8,300 new foster carers who are needed in 2015.

Two in five (40 per cent) fostered teenagers are already living with their third foster family since coming into care, according to a new survey of foster carers released today (1 June) by The Fostering Network.

During Foster Care Fortnight 2015, The Fostering Network will be celebrating the lives of children and young people in foster care, care leavers, and foster carers and their families with a series of celebration days.

The Fostering Network Northern Ireland welcomes the appointment of Simon Hamilton MLA as health minister for Northern Ireland, and is calling on him to make children, and fostering, a priority over the course of his time in office.
