Course description
This course explores the vital role of accurate, timely, and child-centred record keeping in foster care. Participants will develop an understanding of their legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities when recording information, responding to safeguarding concerns, and handling sensitive information. The course also examines effective communication practices, data protection requirements, and the recording and reporting of disclosures, significant incidents, and serious concerns to support positive outcomes for children and young people.
Aim of the course
To equip foster carers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to maintain accurate, child-centred records, respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and significant incidents, and fulfil their legal, ethical, and data protection responsibilities in promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
