The Department of Health is reviewing the allowances system for foster and kinship carers in Northern Ireland. Earlier this month, we conducted a survey to gather views and were really pleased to receive 274 responses, thank you to everyone who took the time to complete this!
We are now holding online and in person focus groups in August with foster carers to explore these findings further. We will be exploring your experiences of the allowance system, whether allowances reflect the costs associated with fostering, the financial pressures and challenges you may encounter and your views on what could be improved. Whether you feel the current system works well, requires change, or have mixed views, your voice is important!
