Caring with Connection: Therapeutic Parenting for Children Who Have Experienced Trauma

What is this course about?

Supporting children who have lived through trauma calls for acceptance, curiosity and empathy, and a parenting style that differs from traditional approaches. This is the foundation of therapeutic parenting and trauma informed care - a way of caring that places connection at the heart of healing. By strengthening the relationship between carer and child, therapeutic parenting helps children make sense of their experiences and better understand their emotions and behaviours.

Through this training, you’ll learn how to better understand children’s behaviours, respond with confidence, and create stronger, more secure relationships that help children to feel secure, understood, and support them to thrive.
