This practical workshop will explore what self-esteem and self-confidence mean and what impact trauma and being in care may have for children and young people. It will consider what foster carers can do through nurturing and connected relationships, to provide support from a trauma-aware perspective. The workshop will also explore some strategies that schools can introduce to create an environment in which traumatised young people can feel safer and more supported them to succeed.
