Please ensure that the people you nominate are able and willing to accept the award publicly and to be photographed and appear in the media.
Nominees must be members of The Fostering Network to be eligible, with the exception of the awards for young people with experience of foster care. Nominees for the Outstanding Contribution by Sons and Daughters Award must be children of members of The Fostering Network.
You can nominate couples who foster together and sibling groups in one nomination.
You can submit more than one nomination.
Please note that nominations made by or for staff, trustees, the president or vice-president of The Fostering Network and their families will not be considered. Nominations made for someone soley because of their work with The Fostering Network will also not be considered, however if they are nominated for reasons unrelated to their work with us, their nomination will be considered.
Further information about your nomination
The awards judges reserve the right to move a nominee into a more appropriate award category without consultation.
Up to three winners will be selected for each award, with the exception of the Jon and Kathy Broad Award, where one winner will be selected from eligible nominations of the Outstanding Contribution by a Foster Carer Award.
If the person you nominate is selected as a winner of an award, you will be contacted by July 2020 and we will give you the opportunity to tell the person you nominated that they have been selected as a winner. If the person you nominate is shortlisted for an award, you will be contacted by August 2020 and provided with a certificate to present to them in recognition of their achievement.
If we are unable to contact you within a reasonable time to inform you that the person you nominated is a winner, we will contact the winner directly to inform them that they have won. If we are unable to contact you within a reasonable time to inform you the person you nominated has been shortlisted, we will not be able to send them a certificate to recognise this.
Due to the volume of nominations we recieve, we are unable to inform you if the person you nominated has not been shortlisted or selected as a winner. Similarly, nominees who are not shortlisted or selected as a winner will not be notified.
The award ceremony for the Fostering Excellence Awards 2020 will take place in London on Monday 19 October 2020. Winners will be invited to attend. Nominees who are shortlisted will not be invited to attend the ceremony.
Please give us as much information as possible about the person you are nominating - their nomination will be judged solely on what you say in this form. Please include specific examples of why you think your nominee deserves to win. You must complete all information marked with a *.
All nominations for the Outstanding Contribution by a Foster Carer Award will also be considered for the Jon and Kathy Broad Award if the foster carers specialise in fostering children and young people with learning disabilities.
