Fostering Excellence Awards

You are here

The Fostering Excellence Awards are the UK’s leading foster care awards. They celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement in fostering and recognise those who make exceptional contributions to foster care every year.

Now in their fourth year, the Fostering Excellence Awards are a fantastic opportunity to shine a spotlight on some of the young people, foster carers, social workers and others who make a positive contribution to the fostering community.

It was a day to remember, a day where the voice of a single, mobilised fostering force reverberated throughout the celebratory halls of the impressive One Great George Street venue.

Thanks are in order for all those who turned up for the event, some of you traveling a long way to get to London. We were delighted to host Westminster fostering ambassadors Debbie Douglas and Lydia Bright as well as other important figures from across the sector, and it was wonderful to see people from all walks in the fostering community. These fine memories, bursting with emotion and glamour, were encapsulated in these photos from the event, which can be seen below.

We would also like to thank all those who made the awards possible, including Jon Broad, ctn, Dreams, Endsleigh Insurance, Partnerships in Children's Services, Partridges, and The Exilarch's Foundation. We are truly grateful to them for their invaluable support and contribution to the event and to fostering in general.

Speaking at the Awards, The Fostering Network's chief executive, Kevin Williams, said:

'It is a huge privilege to host these awards each year. It's so important to take time to celebrate and recognise all those that have gone the extra mile to make foster care the best it can be and the achievements of some of the young people who have been fostered. Congratulations to all the winners.'

It was a stunning display of sheer solidarity among members of the fostering world, and we were thrilled to receive such a response. You can revisit the events of the day by downloading the programme here.

At the event, we showed two films highlighting two of the winners. You can watch the films below.
