Supporting Parents, Nurturing Babies, Keeping Families Safe

Parent and Child Together is a specialist course for foster carers who are caring for a parent and their baby or child within a parent and child placement.

These placements play a vital role in helping children stay safely with their parents wherever possible. They also bring unique responsibilities and challenges. This course is designed to support foster carers to feel confident, prepared and emotionally supported in this important work.

The course recognises that parent and child foster carers are not just providing a home — they are holding a nurturing, observant and supportive space, while contributing to assessments that can shape a child’s future. It focuses on combining warm, relational care with clear professional boundaries, safeguarding awareness and good recording practices.
