Robert Goodwill MP has recently been announced as the new Minister for Children and Families for England. He replaces Edward Timpson, who lost his seat at the general election. As you may know, Edward Timpson was the son of a foster carer - and as such, knew a lot about the issues in foster care.
Robert Goodwill and his team will be working hard to understand his new brief but, given our concern that the responsibilities for the post have been expanded, it is up to us to draw his attention to the issues that really need addressing in foster care right now.
The Fostering Network has written to the minister with a list of fostering priorities - but hearing from you will make all the difference.
If you live in England, please take five minutes to email the minister to tell him what needs addressing in foster care. (Fostering is a devolved issue so Robert Goodwill is only responsible for foster care in England).
We have written an email which you can use, or better still, delete ours and write to him about your own experiences and issues.
