Good afternoon members, hope you've all recovered from the Easter break and have been able to enjoy the sunny weather many parts of the country are experiencing.
Here are some of the community posts that have caught my attention. I do hope you will be able to offer your advice and support, especially if you’ve experienced similar issues as foster carers.
- Have any of you been asked to travel more than 200 miles to allow contact? What’s the farthest you’ve had to travel? Did you or the social worker have to make the journey?
- One poster has asked you to share your collective wisdom about the requirement of the Independent Review Officer to visit to children before a LAC review.
- The breakdown of a long-term placement is always difficult. Each one has separate and very personal complexities. There are two recent posts on the issue. The first asks for advice about maintaining contact. The second asks about the timeframe for disruption meetings.
