The next free Fostering Changes course for the Independent Fostering Sector in Wales has now been scheduled for North Wales and spaces are available.
The Fostering Changes Programme
The Fostering Changes Programme is behaviourally based and derives from research into parenting skills, attachment, educational attainment and the academic progression of looked after children who are in Foster Care. It is a flagship course for Foster Carers that provides them with the practical skills in behaviour identification and management that will support the longevity and stability of placements and make a significant difference to a looked after child’s life.
The next Free Fostering Changes courses for the Independent Fostering Sector in Wales have been scheduled and places are available. It is important that carers are able to attend all 12 weeks. They are also expected to have a child in placement for the duration of the course.
The courses run from 9:30am – 1pm and participants will attend the whole course at one location.
How do I register my interest?
There are only 12 places available for foster carers on each course and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please contact the training officer as soon as possible. We also offer each agency a place for one of their supervising social workers so that they are able to provide further support through the supervision process and embed the learning within the organisational practice.
Training is completely free for our members. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
