The Fostering Network’s Young People’s Advisory Board Scotland selected as finalist for the 2025 Young Scot Award

Our Young People’s Advisory Board in Scotland have been selected as finalists for a Young Scot Award 2025 in the Equality and Diversity category!

The Young Scot Awards recognise young people aged 11–26 across Scotland who make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

The board use their voice to drive meaningful change within the care community. Last year the young people participated in consultations and contributed to the development of training resources for foster carers and so much more.

It’s important to acknowledge and thank all the young people for their time and celebrate their achievements.

Joining a new group can come with some apprehension, but every young person on the board shows support and encouragement to one another.

This has been shown when members talk in meetings, travel to events, stay in a new place or even abseil down a cliff at one of our residentials.

All finalists have been invited to a fun awards ceremony in Glasgow this June.

While the final results will be announced in the coming weeks, simply making it to the finals is a huge achievement in itself.

A huge well done to the young people!
