New Country Director for Scotland joins The Fostering Network

We’re delighted to welcome Paul Sullivan as our new Country Director for Scotland.

Paul joins us from his previous role as Director for Children, Young People and Communities at Sistema Scotland, bringing a wealth of leadership experience and a strong track record in delivering meaningful change for children, young people and families. He will play a key role in driving forward The Fostering Network’s ambitions to improve foster care across Scotland.

During his time at Sistema Scotland, Paul provided senior leadership for Big Noise, an innovative, music-based social change programme working in under-resourced communities. Through this work, he championed the voices of children, young people, families and local communities, ensuring their experiences and ideas were central to shaping the programme.

Paul has been committed to participation and inclusion throughout his career. At CELCIS (the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection), he led policy and participation work focused on influencing systems and creating transformational change for care experienced children, young people and their families.

Alongside his professional work, Paul is Chair of The Sound Lab, a charity dedicated to providing free music and arts tuition to young people who are often denied access to cultural opportunities.

We’re thrilled to welcome Paul to our team of country directors and look forward to the impact his expertise and passion will have in improving the lives of foster families across Scotland.

Sarah Thomas, Chief Executive of The Fostering Network, said:

“Paul brings a deep commitment to children and young people, alongside a wealth of experience in leadership, collaboration and driving systemic change. His passion for ensuring that voices are heard and acted upon aligns perfectly with our mission.

“We’re delighted to have him leading our work in Scotland at such an important time.”

Paul Sullivan, Country Director for Scotland, said:

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining The Fostering Network and to support the vital role that foster carers play across Scotland. I’m passionate about working alongside children, families and communities to make sure their voices shape the services they rely on.

“I’m looking forward to building on the organisation’s strong foundations and helping to create positive change for foster families.”
