Following the announcement by the Minister for Childcare and Early Years, Mark McDonald, that The Fostering Network would be one of a number of organisations who would receive funding from the Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Fund, Sara Lurie, director of The Fostering Network Scotland, said: ‘We are very grateful to have received this core funding from the Scottish Government. We know that foster care transforms lives, but we also know that foster care is at its best when foster families are well supported. This grant, among other things, will enable us to continue running Fosterline Scotland which provides essential advice and support to foster carers and fostering services all across Scotland, helping them in their vital role of looking after children on behalf of the state.'
