Since 2018, The Mortgage Brain has been advocating for the fostering community across mortgage and insurance sectors, working to ensure fostering households are properly understood and fairly represented by mainstream providers. Building on direct feedback from foster carers, The Mortgage Brain identified a further critical gap within the insurance market: the need for home insurance that reduces the risk of unnecessary criminalisation of foster children during the claims process.
In response, they partnered with The Fostering Network to develop Fostershield — a specialist policy designed specifically for fostering households, recognising fostered children as part of the family.
In this webinar, we will explore what Foster Shield provides for foster carers, outline the thinking behind its development, and invite your feedback on where gaps may still exist within the insurance sector — and how The Mortgage Brain can continue evolving solutions that genuinely support the fostering community.
This is your opportunity to share your lived experience, influence future improvements, and help shape a financial services landscape that truly reflects the realities of fostering.
