This course will provide a space to explore issues relating to LGBT children and young people who are looked after. Issues of sexuality and gender recognition will be discussed to instil confidence on how to support children and young people in foster care.

During the training participants will • Explore the key stages of development. • Learn about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) identities • Understand transgender and issues of gender reassignment • Clarify the needs and rights of LGBTQ children’s and young people in foster care This course is delivered by our Associate trainer Mike Lewis Mike Lewis was previously Chief Executive Officer at the Welsh Refugee Council, Director of Policy at Children in Wales and is currently a lecturer in social policy and social work at Swansea University. He is passionate about exploring both the conscious and unconscious aspects of organizational life, development and support to service users.
