Become a foster carer

If you can provide stability and care, you can provide the loving foster home a child needs.

Why foster?

Across Scotland, we’re looking for people like you to step forward and provide loving support and care for our children.

As a foster carer, you can give children who cannot live with their own family a safe and stable place to grow, for as long they need it. Whether it’s for a short or long time, it can make a real difference to their lives.

You’ll receive all the training and support you need from your local council throughout your fostering journey.

About this campaign

Across Scotland, the call for more foster carers has never been more urgent -  and the Scottish Government’s campaign shines a powerful spotlight on just how life‑changing fostering can be. It shows that the everyday moments you share, a warm meal, a steady routine, a reassuring chat,  can mean the world to a child who needs stability, care and connection.

At The Fostering Network, we’re proud to stand behind this national campaign and host the national recruitment line.  By joining forces with the Scottish Government’s campaign, we hope to inspire many more people to step forward, because when you offer a safe and loving home, the ordinary really can become extraordinary.
