Training courses

The Fostering Network can provide individual or packages of courses on a variety of topics to meet your service’s needs. Our in-service training can be tailored to benefit all professionals in the team around the child, while our open courses equip individuals in your team with the knowledge they need to enhance their role.

In-service courses

The Fostering Network has developed a broad range of training courses designed to support the learning development of your foster care workforce, and which complement our consultancy packages.

Our team of in-house and associate practice experts will work with you to identify the needs of training participants and design a course to meet your bespoke aims and objectives.

Courses are delivered at your service at a time convenient to you, giving you the extra convenience and flexibility of being on-site, to around 12 to 20 participants. We can accommodate more participants if required. Our courses are consistently highly regarded by participants:

Caring for looked after children

These courses will introduce newer carers to some key issues in fostering and provide them with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges with confidence. Experienced foster carers will be encouraged to deepen their understanding and further develop their abilities. Social workers who attend will continue their professional development by reflecting on these issues in depth and exploring ways to support foster carers.
