Salary: £22,138 - £27,000 pa plus £3,964pa London weighting allowance if applicable 

 (Salary pro rata for Wales and Scotland)

Locations:

England - Hybrid with travel to London Office, SE1 2 days a week

Wales – Hybrid with travel to Cardiff office once a week

Scotland – Hybrid with occasional travel to Edinburgh, flexible (office in Glasgow)

Hours:

36 hours per week (England)

21.6 hours (Wales, Scotland)

About the role

We are looking for three new Policy and Public Affairs Officer posts based in England, Wales and Scotland to join our highly effective UK wide policy and campaigns team. With fostering high on the political agenda in each nation and a General Election on the horizon, this is an exciting time to join the organisation. You will have the opportunity to influence policy and practice to bring about lasting change for children and young people in foster care.

Each role will involve influencing political and policy-making processes in the country of focus and contributing to UK wide projects. The roles will support the delivery of effective campaigns, key research projects and engage with our members to ensure they are at the heart of what we do.

About you

You will be passionate about improving children’s social care and foster care for children. You will have experience of analysing and conducting research and producing high quality evidence-based written materials.

You will have some knowledge of the policy and legislative landscape in the country of focus and some experience of delivering campaigns which help to bring about change. You will be a great communicator and able to build relationships with stakeholders of all levels, including young people.
