Scottish social pedagogues nominated for award

The social pedagogy team in Edinburgh were nominated for the Council’s Children and Family Award under the category of Creating, Inspiring and Innovating.

Social pedagogue and supervising social worker Christine Spurk says: “We are happy to say that although the presenter could not pronounce social pedagogy and we are sure he did not know what it entailed, the judges clearly understood what we are trying to build and create in Edinburgh. Foster carers fed back on how inspired they were with the training and we were highly commended in this category.”

From Left to Right: Billy MacIntyre (Head of Resources); Alma Cope (Site Lead Head, Heart, Hands for Edinburgh and Team Leader Recruitment); Christine Spurk (Social Pedagogue Head, Heart, Hands and Supervising Social Worker for Specialist Fostering Team); Liliana Santos (Social Pedagogue Head, Heart, Hands and Supervising Social Worker for Specialist Fostering Team); Lovat Fraser (Team Leader Specialist Fostering Team), Grant Stott (Host, Scottish radio broadcaster).
