Let's go with The Fostering Network Wales!

News

The Fostering Network Wales is to launch Let's Go, which is aimed at improving health and wellbeing, strengthening fostering placements and encouraging children into sport, in early 2015.

The project, funded by the Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust and run in conjunction with SuperStars, will provide two days of sporting and coaching activities for looked after children aged 5-11 years in Wales. The fun learning environment will help 72 children gain confidence and become fitter whilst enjoying and succeeding in a range of sports and physical activities that they would not otherwise have tried before.

Maria Boffey, project manager at The Fostering Network Wales, said: “Let's Go will give children in foster care the opportunity to try out new activities in a safe and nurturing environment, providing ideas and opportunities that they would not have considered previously.

“As well as helping children and young people feel part of their community, it will help to improve the physical health of children in care, improving their mental health and wellbeing, help relieve tension and stress, improve concentration, increase self-esteem and most of all, to have fun!”
