The Fostering Network named as Endsleigh Charity Partner

Media release

The Fostering Network is delighted to have been named as Endsleigh's newest charity partner.

The charity, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, joins County Community Projects and Place2Be as Endsleigh's chosen charities, following a vote by the company's staff.

Endsleigh employees will be fundraising for the charity, while the Fostering Network, together with foster families and young people, will in turn help their staff learn more about fostering and the role of foster carers.

Lucy Peake, the Fostering Network's director of external affairs, said: "We're really thrilled to have been chosen by Endsleigh staff, who have voted to support the work that we do.

"Over the past 40 years the charity has worked hard to make life better for foster families and fostered children. Together with our members we have achieved an enormous amount, but there is still a long way to go.

"In particular, the Fostering Network is determined to help children and young people in care achieve more in education. Having the support of Endsleigh and its staff will help us to raise much-needed funds so we can take this vital work forward."

Mark Ratcliffe, Endsleigh's community engagement officer, said: "It's important that we support charities which fit with our aspirations of supporting young people with their education and future options.

"Foster carers play an essential role improving the educational outcomes of young people in foster care so we're delighted our people voted for the Fostering Network as one of our chosen charities."

The announcement comes as Foster Care Fortnight, the Fostering Network's annual campaign to raise the profile of fostering and the need for more foster carers, draws to a close. This year, with the theme of "guess who fosters", the campaign aimed to bust myths about who care foster, and focus on the skills and qualities foster carers need to make a real difference in a child's lie.
