Hub home carers are at the centre of each of our Mockingbird contellations, so we thought we would let you know what their role involves.
Our Mockingbird programme is growing rapidly, with new constellations (fostering households gathered around a hub home which offers planned and emergency respite, advice, training and support) popping up across the country.
Mockingbird is an innovative programme for delivering foster care which can bring significant benefits to the lives of fostered children and those who look after them. Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council has been part of the programme since its inception in 2015.

The Fostering Network is delighted to have been successful in securing further funding for the next phase of the pioneering Mockingbird programme.
An additional £3.76m has been allocated from the Department for Education’s Children’s Social Care Innovation Programme to work with new partners as well as testing additional innovations to the model.
Last month saw the Mockingbird Family Model Sharing Event take place in the welcoming surroundings of Birmingham’s City Council banqueting suite.
The introduction of the Mockingbird Family Model to the UK is one of a number of innovative programmes that The Fostering Network runs to improve foster care and outcomes for fostered young people.
